teaching lessons learned.

1. avoid teaching two courses that i haven't taught before during the same term.
   
   
2. avoid teaching in the mornings;
   
   it doesn't matter what the subject is.
   i'm better off teaching in the afternoons.
   
   
3. unless the department offers me a specific tech guy or TA to handle it, avoid teaching courses which require a computer component (e.g. using MatLab, Maple).
   
   this always boils down to doing your own tech support,
   which is its own share of misery.
